“My name is Claire Wright and I’m a junior at Virginia Tech in Myers-Lawson majoring in Construction Engineering and Management as well as serving as the Vice President of BWIC. 
I’ve always been very interested in buildings and infrastructure in cities and how construction allows you to transform 2D drawings into a real life structure. 
I have loved my time at MLSoC and am very excited to start my career in the industry!”

“I'm a sophomore studying Construction Engineering and Management (CEM) at Virginia Tech and I serve as  BWIC’s Industry Outreach Manager. 
I am passionate about informing my peer’s about opportunities and resources to succeed academically, especially during college. 
My interests include risk assessment, logistics, sustainability, etc. within the commercial sector.”

Last but far from least, I would like to introduce Last but far from least, I would like to introduce you Laura. She is one of the @girlsincivil board members. 
“I am from Canovanas, Puerto Rico, and I graduated as a civil engineer in 2021. I am currently working at Burns & McDonnell as a Design Engineer in Kansas City in the area of Transmission in Distribution. I love to travel and keeping my creative side alive by taking on different projects and exploring different mediums when it comes to creating something new. I joined Girls In Civil as a way to mix both Civil Engineering and my love for creating new ideas and content.”

I studied at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, where I was part of the Dance Team and diverse extracurriculars in Civil Engineering that helped me grow and develop my confidence around the industry. Currently, I am a Project Engineer in Transportation in Virginia, USA. I love and enjoy dancing and talking about personal development and growth.”
